On the afternoon of April 28, 2023, the 16th Expert Lectures at the School of Foreign Languages, Northwest University, was held as scheduled. Professor Zhang Bisheng, a doctoral supervisor from Guizhou Normal University, joined over 100 faculty members and students from our school online to deliver a lecture titled “Academic Paper Topic Selection, Writing, and Publication.” The lecture was hosted by Dr. Su Rui, Vice Dean of Research at our school.
Professor Zhang Bisheng first briefly introduced the concept, characteristics, types, and the necessity of publishing academic papers. Then, combining his own experiences in writing, publishing, and reviewing relevant academic papers, he analyzed the main issues in academic research and paper writing. Finally, he summarized the basic methods of academic research and the key points and considerations for paper topic selection, writing, and submission. Professor Zhang provided detailed answers to the questions raised by the faculty and students of our school regarding paper writing and publication.
This lecture provided valuable insights for improving the academic research capabilities and paper writing skills of our faculty and students, and everyone expressed their deep inspiration.
