On March 15, 2023, our school held an online professional interview session for foreign applicants for the 2023 academic year, and conducted preliminary interviews for four foreign students applying for our master’s programs. The meeting was attended by Dean Cao Ruonan, Vice Dean Li Mi, Dean’s Assistant Xu Na, representatives of master’s supervisors Yuan Xiling and Chen Hanliang, and Foreign Affairs Secretary Chen Juan.
The interview process was divided into three parts: the host introducing the applicants, the applicants’ self-introduction, and expert questioning. The evaluation mainly focused on the applicants’ moral character, understanding of China, professional foundation, research ability, language proficiency, potential for development, willingness to study at our school, and other aspects. During the post-interview review session, the expert panel conducted a thorough discussion and made recommendations, and selected outstanding students to be reported to the International Department.
The four foreign students participating in the interview are from Pakistan and Algeria, applying for our master’s programs in English translation and foreign language and literature. It is noteworthy that this is the first time our school has conducted recruitment for foreign graduate students, marking a new milestone in our school’s international talent cultivation efforts.
