The president of NWU, Prof. Fang Guanghua did a research about public English teaching affairs. The director of the President Office, the director of Teaching Affairs, leaders and the representative teachers in SFL attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the Dean of SFL Cui Yaping gave a detailed introduction of the revolution in teaching affairs. And then they discussed the difficulties and hotspots existing in the teaching revolution.
On one hand, the president Fang Guanghua praised the efforts and achievements in teaching public English. In recent years, the teaching level and infrastructure have improved a lot, and the pasting rate of CET4 and CET6 have increased, too. On the other hand, the English teacher will face great pressure from title promotion and teaching revolution which are challenges as well as opportunities. The teachers should have prepared in advance to improve the teachings by making full use of the advantages of rich cultural resources and various subjects in comprehensive university.
