Inaugural Russian Drama Festival and Russian Department Practice Week Event

At the National Work Conference on Ideology and Politics in Universities, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that more attention should be paid to cultivating cultured individuals and nurturing students through culture, focusing on the creation of a civilized campus culture, and organizing diverse, healthy and elegant campus cultural activities. And he called for extensive participation in various forms of social practice to create a good environment for nurturing students. In order to further implementing the spirit of the National Work Conference on Ideology and Politics in Universities and the cultural ideology of Xi Jinping, the Russian Department of the School of Foreign Languages held a practice week event from January 10th to 11th, 2024.

The Inaugural Russian Drama Festival at the School of Foreign Languages

After careful preparation, faculty and students of the Russian Department jointly held the Inaugural Russian Drama Festival at the Second Classroom Lecture Hall on January 10th. The festival was hosted bilingually in Chinese and Russian, with students from the 2022 and 2023 classes of the Russian major mainly participating in the performances. The program covered various themes such as international hot topics, everyday life and fairy tales. The plot design of programs was reasonable, the performances were lively and interesting, and the Russian dialogue was fluent. All in all, all programs had their own characteristics. This festival received unanimous praise from the judging panel and the audience, marking a successful conclusion to the Inaugural Russian Drama Festival.

Visit to the Shaanxi History Museum

At 9:00 a.m. on January 11th, students from the 2022 and 2023 classes of the Russian major, led by teachers Cai Hongyan and Chen Xin, visited the Shaanxi History Museum. Following the detailed explanations of the museum guides regarding the displayed artifacts and exhibition boards, faculty and students of the Russian major gained a systematic understanding of the basic exhibitions in ancient Shaanxi. They deeply understood the development process of Shaanxi from the early Paleolithic era to modern times, listened to echoes of history during the immersive visit, and glimpsed the wisdom of our ancestors.

Conclusion

The practice week events of the Russian Department were diverse and rich in content. Through events such as the drama festival performances and visits to historical sites, students enriched their campus cultural life and learned much knowledge while enjoying themselves. These events encouraged students to actively demonstrate their initiative and showcase the youthful vigor of Russian language majors.
