Organization

In charge of the English teaching of both graduates and juniors, the department is composed of 17 Chinese instructors and a foreign one, among which there are 3 professors, 3 associate professors, 6 lecturers and 6 teaching assistants, 95 percent of whom are masters. The staff has been working very hard and has achieved considerably a lot in recent years, both in English teaching and research work as well. For instance, students not only scored well in the provincial English test, but ranked the first and two in the graduates’ speech contest, respectively in 2005 and 2007. Instructors perform excellent, too. In addition to their teaching, they either chair or participate in a variety of projects at different levels, the result of which are diverse, like published articles, books and textbooks, which have won awards of different kinds and at different levels.
